Research of Knowledge Service offering Mechanism of Learning Object Repository
In web-based learning environment, Learning Object Repository (LOR) is a very important component. To overcome the shortages of traditional services provided by LOR, in this paper a concept of knowledge service is introduced. In order to discuss the mechanism of providing knowledge services in LOR system, a knowledge service model of LOR is proposed. And according to this model, a framework of agent-based LOR system that provides knowledge services is suggested. To prove the validity and feasibility of this model, a test system is developed. The running of test system shows that in the area of LOR, the providing of knowledge services of can improve the utilization of LOR and the performances of teaching and learning based on LOR, and also improve the efficiency of the management of LOR.
