An Efficient Fast Block Motion Search Algorithm in Video Coding
Fast block motion estimation algorithms have always been a favorite to the researchers in video compression field, and its efficiency mainly represents at visual quality, compress efficiency and search speed, and they are decided by the factors of matching rules, initial motion vector, searching template and searching stop strategy, and so on. This paper firstly will give the analyses of matching criterion and allocation for coding bits. An adaptive fast block search algorithm is proposed from the four aspects above. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm performs faster than the MVFAST by about 78.87% and the PMVFAST by about 5.94%, whereas similar prediction quality is still maintained.
