MAS Modeling and Simulation of Self-organizing Residential Space Evolution of Artificial Cities

The concept of artificial cities is put forward based on theories such as artificial societies, parallel systems and self-organizing cities, and by comparing main approaches to urban simulation modeling, multi-agent system (MAS) method is chosen for carrying out research of artificial cities. According to the self-organization features of residential space evolution system of artificial cities, its MAS model and the models mechanism are built, and the two parts of the model, I.e.,residential space and resident agents are described in detail.Swarm simulation programs for self-organization features and structural stability research of object system are developed as well. The simulation results show that as order parameters, cultural and economic attributes of resident agents have important effects on formation and change of object systems structure respectively, and immigrants with different compositions have different influence on original residential space structure. Further analysis shows that the MAS model built is reasonable and can explain the self-organizing process of residential spaces formation and change.
