Simulation Composability Based on Base Object Model and Ontology
Finding an appropriate method to evaluate simulation composability plays an important role in the reuse of simulation components and the construction of large-scale simulation system.A novel method based on Base Object Model (BOM) and ontology was proposed to address the problem. BOM and its metadata were utilized to evaluate syntactic composability. Then, the idea of ontology mapping was employed in evaluating semantic composability. Moreover, all necessary algorithms were described. Experimental results show that the proposed method can evaluate simulation composability correctly to ensure that users may select the most proper simulation components for a simulation system.
