Correlation Analysis for Quasi-Orthogonal Codes Based on M-sequences

This paper discusses the construction of quasiorthogonal codes based on Gold or Kasami sets, and orthogonal code sets with variable length based on M-sequences for CDMA systems. Quasi-orthogonal codes are used to complement orthogonal codes. Orthogonal sets from variable length Msequences are employed to ease the OVSF code blocking.Correlation performance is assessed for the proposed code sets.Numerical results show that the cross correlations are relatively low and, hence, code limitation and code blocking can be reasonably alleviated if the proposed code sets are used.
