Compiler Development Based on XML
Traditional compiler technique is normally hard to be applied to some new environments, such as embedded, mobile,and distributed systems. XML can make both data and formats shared on software and Network, so it can be used for developing compiler. Firstly, the design architecture of compiling process is given, then how to represent regular expression, syntax tree, and symbol table with XML Schema is discussed. As a result, all stages of compiling process can be managed and parsed by some XML tools and DOM API. So compiling intermediate code is with high portability, and it can be applied in compilers of different environments and languages.
