Design Pattern Driven Approach in MDA
MDA is a general technique to develop software system and can be used in any kind of system built on middle ware. In this paper, we introduce a design pattern driven approach (DPDA) to apply MDA in system development. Our approach is to use pattern as paradigm to build the system. Every pattern has its own particular participants with corresponding structure and behavior. Therefore, we provide the mapping rules of patterns from PIM to special PSM so that the Design Pattern can be used in MDA as the model unit. The essence of our approach is to increase the granularity of the modeling units. Considering the openness of the technology, we choose the J2EE as the target PSM to transform. In addition, we focus on the representative pattern-Abstract Factory pattern to illustrate our DPDA.
