A Middle Radiation Approach of Computer Networks Teaching
Using the application of existing teaching approach of computer networks, we investigate traditional approach (i.e.,Bottom-Up Approach) and current popular teaching approach (i.e., Top-Down Approach presented by James F. Kurose and Keith W. Ross). We surprisingly find that both approaches have a hidden trouble that relatively neglects the core of computer networks teaching. We first make a large potential change to such both approaches and present a Middle Radiation Approach of Computer Networks Teaching (MRACNT) to further improve the teaching effect of computer networks. The large feature of such new approach is that it starts teaching at the network layer that located in the middle part of the protocol stack and radiates up or down the protocol stack. We demonstrate that such new approach outperforms both existing approach.
