Integrating Disaster Simulation Models for Emergency Response

In current emergency response or decision support systems, many simulation models are used individually to study emergency or disaster scenarios. The effects of these models may be significantly enhanced if they can be integrated to study the sequence of an emergency response scenario with a right context. This paper presents an architecture for integration of disaster simulation models for analyzing emergency response scenarios. In the Model Integration Architecture (MIA), all the simulation models are running upon Geographic Information System (GIS) and databases. The inputs and outputs of the integrated models are redirected to connect with each other. Disaster evolution prediction, impact areas demarcation, human behavior simulation and real-time data acquisition were integrated and considered in a correlative manner.
