Study on Information Technology in Derivative Disaster Management
Emergency often occurs with leading to the derivative disasters which may do more harm to people and the social system. In disposing the emergency and the derivative disasters, many management departments involved in them need to take part in the work in order to minimize the loss and prevent the derivative disasters from occurring and spreading.In order to comprehensively monitor the activities and communicate with others and so on, information technology is needed. The paper discusses a multidisciplinary team within an emergency operation organization, in building a web-based emergency operation portal to support decision maker. Knowledge management portal based on ontology and sense-making are fundamental in system. Workflows model and geocollaborative crisis management are also introduced as evolving in this field.
