Risk Communications: the Performance of Chinese Government——Research on the Case of Avian Influenza
The risk communication is a very important aspect in Emergency Management. The Chinese Government had been taught a lesson by SARS and improves much on Avian Influenza risk communications. To examine the effect of the crisis communication on the public the author polls five social groups in Jiaozuo region, Henan Province. The poll shows that the majority of the public does not know the all of the risk points of AI, and so the risk communication is imperfectly. On the face of it, it is because that the Government is short of experience in risk communications and can not tell the public all of the risk points fully and systematically. The underground reason, the author deems, is that the Government sticks to the value tropism of so called Society Stabilization and split the system of the risk points designedly.
