A New Method on Risk Assessment of Dangerous Chemicals

The study of risk assessment of dangerous chemicalss has attracted much attention in recent years.In this paper, a new method of risk assessment is developed. Besides the inherent risk, the accident derivation possbility that may be caused by the primary accident is considered together with the effect of emergency rescue action which may reduce the risk. The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is applied in this research. The factors and the weights are specified with dozens of case analysis. The risk assessment results show good agreement with the real cases. It is also found that the effect of emergency rescue action is very important in risk assessment and should not be ignored.
