ANALYSIS ON BEARING BEHAVIOR OF THE SPATIAL STEEL STRUCTURE OF BANGBU BRIDGE

A variety of spatial structure bridges are built recently, such as suspension bridges, cable stayed bridge and composite bridge. Composite bridge is a structural system combined by various structural members with different load-carrying behavior like beam, arch, etc. Beam-Arch Combination bridge is one kind of structural system. Its bearing resistance depends upon the arch rib and its bending resistance depends upon the carriageway beam. The arch and the beam worked together perfectly as the system make the best of the members. Tianjin Banbu Bridge is a kind of dissymmetrical steel bridge of these very Beam-Arch Combination System. Its load bearing capacity depends upon two groups of spatial grid structures which consist of Iongeron, crossbeam, three longitudinal arches and seventeen transverse arches. The bridge is complex for mechanical and tectonic consideration. In this paper, the large universal finite element program ANSYS is adopted, a three-dimensional finite element model is established and the spatial static behavior of Banbu Bridge is analyzed. The reliability and safety of the bridge is verified. Some of the issues that need to be considered in the real bridge construction were also discussed. The analysis results can be used as reference for practical engineering.
