SHEAR LAG EFFECT ANALYSIS OF STEEL BOX WITH CURVE SIDE WEBS
For improvement of ability against corrosion, the outer flange of a box girder can be closed with clipper-built steel plate. Meanwhile, the clipper-built appearance may satisfy aesthetic consideration for city viaduct. Based on a continuous 3-span(40m-55m-45m) steel box girder with curve side webs, the three dimensions finite element model is built with shell element using ANSYS program. The shear lag effect of top deck of box is analyzed under the cases of designing load combinations, as well as cases of different longitudinal and transverse load positions. The distribution rules of shear lag coefficient along transverse section and length of bridge are present.
