TENTATIVE APPROACH FOR THE DESIGN FORMULA OF STEEL-CONCRETE COMPOSITE JOINT

Being part of the design of steel-concrete composite structures placed in seismic zones, the joint design seems to be highly dependent not only of the constitutive parts: structural steel, reinforcement and concrete, but also how the joint is conceived using these elements. Therefore a tentative approach was studied in order to offer a simplified formula for the design of such joint. Using numerical analysis in elastic and post elastic range and a STM procedure the stress state of the joint was approximate aiming to evaluate the load bearing capacity of the joint. The theoretical value was then compared with experimental data in order to validate the procedure and the basic hypothesis. The paper contains a tentative approach of the design formulae of a specific steel-concrete composite joint.
