NUMERICAL STUDIES ON SEISMIC BEHAVIOR OF CONCRETE-FILLED STEEL SQUARE TUBULAR COLUMN-STEEL BEAM CONNECTION
Based on the Technical Specification for Structures with Concrete-filled Rectangular Steel Tube Members, 3-D nonlinear finite element models were used to analyze the hysteresis behavior of the connection-inner and through-type diaphragm subassembly under cyclic loading using ANSYS and compared the data with those of experiment. The framework curves of the FE models show good agree with those of the experiments. The influences of the compression ratio, the concrete strength in the steel tubes and the length of the through diaphragm on the mechanism behavior of connections were analyzed based on the proper finite element model. The results show compression ratio and the length of the through diaphragm are more important to the connections.
