Based on the 2D finite element tidal and sediment numerical model, effect of estuary training levees on the water flow and sediment movement in the Yellow River estuary is analyzed. For disclosing the affect of setting the two training levees on the flow and sediment diffusion, the calculation and analysis for the two projects, one is no levees, the other is setting up two no levees, are given. The results show that When setting up the two training levees, water flow is bind by levees, flow is cut off at the cross direction water flows more concentrated, velocity increases in main channel, capacity of water flow carries sediment increases also. This makes sediment go outside and far away from the estuary gate and be transported to deep sea. The point of the maximum sediment concentration go out from No.2242 to No.2283, the distance of the two points is 920 meters long. Setting up levees can bring into good action.
