Shape design and experiment research of the supercavitating underwater high-speed projectile
Recently, the experiment has certified that high-speed projectile may produce cavity in water. This effect makes underwater projectile travels speedily and continually if it can be controlled efficiently, and may be used as the close-in defence weapon of the naval ships. However, there are many complicated situations underwater and the impacting factors are very much. Thus, all kinds of factors must be synthesized with the purpose of the far distance of attack and the strong killability, and the figure design of the projectile is one of the most importance among the factors. This article presents the shape designs method and gist of the underwater high-speed projectile. The first, the shape model is presented that is based on the potential panel method to the slender axisymmetric body. The second, the effect is analyzed comparatively that is from the difference shape to the supercavitation. The last, by comparing the result of simulation and experiment, the method is valid.
