Correction on drag coefficient in simulation of fast fluidized beds
A modified drag coefficient model was developed by considering the effect of cluster existing in fast fluidized beds. The solid phase is simulated using Lagrangian particle trajectory model, and particle collision is modeled by means of direct simulation Monte Carlo method. The gas phase turbulent flow is modeled using large eddy simulation. Compared with the experimental data, predicted results given by the new drag coefficient model are more reasonable than that by traditional drag coefficient model.
