Study and simulation on twin roll-casting of magnesium alloy sheet
Twin-roll casting of magnesium alloy is one of the advancing technology currently, the temperature and flow field in the tundish during the process of the twin-roll casting of magnesium alloy were calculated in this paper, the proper structure of tundish and the redistribution of link stopper in it were determined. Also, the temperature and flow field of the rollers and magnesium alloy in the roll-casting zone were studied, and the roll-casting technology of magnesium alloy was studied according to the calculated results. Through lots of experiments of twin-roll casting, magnesium alloy sheet with good quality was got, and the results of experiments showed that the calculated result was closed to the measured one.
