Simulation of Controlled Rolling of SBQ Type Microalloyed Steel

Present technical and technological options provided by the continuous light mill at T?inecké ?elezárny for the controlled rolling of round SBQ-type bars using an ASC-type finishing line and continuous cooling of the rolled stock in water boxes. Use of computer and plastometric simulation of the process of the controlled rolling of vanadium microalloyed steel, to optimise the conditions of the continuous light mill. Simulations of the cooling of round stock of two diameters during final reduction stages and during accelerated cooling downstream and upstream of the finishing line stands of the continuous, light mill at T?inec were performed. Temperature-time relations were obtained using cross sectional sectors at various transfer coefficients, and the TTSteel program supplied by ITA was used for the simulations. The simulation was carried out for the conditions of rolling two diameters, 1 and 2, of round bars during the final reduction stages and at accelerated cooling up- and downstream of the finishing line stands. The samples were submitted to plastometric simulation with plain deformation (Plain Strain Compression Test-PSCT) at Gleeble, IMZ Gliwice. (Institute for Ferrous Metallurgy). At the same time, an experiment was conducted to obtain the fundamental stress-strain curve. The results made it possible not only to compare the pattern of the deformation resistance but also the kinetics of the softening processes in Mn-V-type microalloyed steel once a metallographic analysis was performed.
