A study on the influence of boundary conditions on simulated dislocation patterns in a fatigued copper single crystal
The method of discrete dislocation dynamics in two dimensions has been used to study the influence of boundary conditions on the computer-simulated dislocation patterns in fatigued copper single crystals. The simulated results show that the boundary conditions are very important for the characterization of the evolution of dislocation pattern, such as dislocation polygonization. Different boundary conditions result in distinct simulation results in terms of dislocation patterns when other conditions are completely identical.
