Dynamics simulation of Cu coating SiC composite particles
Cu-coated SiC composite particles (SiC/Cu) were prepared using a coating method. The SEM observation indicated that the as-prepared SiC/Cu composite particles were of a typical core-shell structure. The growth process of Cu crystallites coating on SiC particles was simulated using a kinetic Monte Carlo method. The simulation results indicated that Cu crystallites firstly precipitated on the surfaces of SiC particles, and then grew to be a kind of branched crystals. It was also found that the sharp edges of the SiC particles were not well coated. In addition, the dynamics process of Cu coating on SiC particles was discussed. The simulation results showed high consistence with the corresponding experimental results.
