Numerical Simulation of the Concentration Field of Powder Stream in Coaxial Laser Cladding
There are three main physical processing of energy, momentum and mass transference of powder stream in laser manufacture. This paper is focused on numerical simulation of concentration field of the powder stream from the nozzle. Carrying gas/powder two phases flow equations were established based on Euler model. Computer numerical simulation of concentration field in the powder stream was finished using FLUENT6.0 software. Digital particle image method (DPIV) was selected to measure the concentration field. 2D concentration field pattern and its parameters were obtained. Results show a good agreement between the theoretical simulation and the experiment data.
