STRATEGIES OF ENHANCING THE PERFORMANCE OF EMBEDDED 3D GRAPHICS APPLICATIONS

Although many popular embedded 3D graphics engines in industry make 3D graphics programming significantly easier and more portable, such as OpenGL|ES various implementations on different platforms, developers still have to work on tuning the performance of their applications as much as possible.This paper features tips with respect to strategies of how to enhance the execution efficiency of embedded 3D graphics applications.Modeling methodology will be discussed in terms of geometric complexity and typical 3D primitives, subsequently, pipeline optimization and resources overhead balancing will be taken into consideration, based on which, general 3D objects rendering efficiency can be increased under customized environment Experimental data from embedded handheld devices will be given to verify proposed strategies of performance enhancement.
