Generalised non-locality: A trade-off between strength and versatility

We consider a generalisation of quantum non-locality to allow all non-signalling correlations, by first placing quantum theory within a general probabilistic framework, and then expanding the set of allowed states to include all possibilities consistent with the no-signalling condition. By incorporating additional states with stronger non-locality than in quantum theory, we find that we necessarily reduce the set of allowed measurements and dynamics. This limits the versatility of the states and non-local correlations of the theory. One manifestation of this is that there is no analogue of entanglement swapping for generalised non-local correlations.
