Reactive power compensation by using series connected current phase control switches
This paper evaluates a new series connected current phase control switch for the use in reactive power compensation in power systems. The series connected current phase control switch is shown to be a good candidate for power factor correction, by its simple control, Iow losses and compact size. A new feasible application compensating for reactive power from a load group with induction motor and RL -loads is investigated.
