Wide-Input DC/DC Modules Offer Maximum Design Flexibility
When specifying a non-isolated DC/DC power module to generate a load voltage, systems designers must consider the needed input-voltage range. Generally, there are two types of non-isolated modules; one has a narrow-input range and the other has a wide-input range. Wide-input range modules operate from 12V or 24V bus inputs. This enables a variety of power supplies to be used for generating a bus voltage. The modules are ideal for industrial controls, HVAC systems, vehicles, medical instrumentation and other applications that utilize a loosely regulated intermediate distribution bus. System designers who choose power supplies may want to take a close look at the latest generation of wide-range input DC/DC modules.
