Sensorless Determination of the Exact Rotor Position of a Blocked Permanent Magnet Machine
This paper presents a solution to determine the rotor angle of a fixed permanent magnet machine with applied brakes which is possible without any sensors except voltage and current probes normally assembled in the converter. The determination is based on two measurement methods, the coupled inductance between different phases and the self inductance of one phase, both dependant on the rotor position.
