CHARACTERISTICS OF CREEP DEFORMATION FOR DIRECTIONALLY SOLIDIFIED TURBINE BLADES IN CREEP-FATIGUE TESTS
At elevated temperature creep has a serious influence on the fatigue process of turbine blades. To obtain creep-fatigue life data, the directionally solidified turbine blade is loaded by a special design rig and heated by eddy current induction in laboratory environment in this study. For the blades key section, experimental conditions are very close to its working conditions, and the life data got from experiments are reasonable compared with the actual flight data. At the same time, creep deformation of the heated blade part during above creep-fatigue is measured and recorded. Obvious distinction of creep strain curves between test blades in creep-fatigue tests and the standard specimens in creep tests is found. Besides the creep-fatigue life data, the creep deformation predicted by calculations will also have important meanings for turbine blades design and maintenance.
