EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH ON HEAT TRANSFER CHARACTERISTICS OF DENSE JET ARRAY IMPINGEMENT
The heat transfer characteristics and influencing factors of jet array impingement were investigated experimentally through designing diversiform experimental models, using the transient Infrared thermography method. The results of the investigation show that the heat transfer coefficient grows with the jet Reynolds number increasing, contrarily with the relative jet to jet spacing of x/d and y/d. And it also shows that the transfer coefficient becomes low gradually with the jet to target spacing of z/d increasing. Furthermore, the arrangement of the holes is an important influence factor. In the case of x/d=y/d =3 or 4 or 5,the cooling effectiveness of in-line array is higher than that of staggered array, but in the case of the x/d=y/d =2, the cooling effectiveness of the in-line array is higher only in the front regions along the stream wise row but lower in the rear regions.
