Study on High-speed Impinging Jet By PIV
High-speed impinging jets produce a highly unsteady flowfield leading to a noisy environment with high dynamic pressure loads on nearby surface. An experimental investigation of the flow properties of an axisymmetric impinging jet has been performed. The flow-fields are examined using Particle Image Velocimetry Technique (PIV).Then the flowfield will be decomposed to average and fluctuation field by Reynolds decomposition. In conjunction with vortex identification methods such as vorticity and swirling strength analysis, more structures of the flow-field are obtained. Moreover, considering the fact that the initial shear layer development has a profound effect on the overall instability, the properties of the shear layer (include its thickness and development) will be analyzed at different NPR (nozzle pressure ratio) and impinging distance.
