LES SIMULATIONS OF FLUIDIC CONTROL FOR CAVITY FLOWS
The numerical study is conducted to investigate flow field characteristic and fluidic control for subsonic flow over an open cavity. The papers purpose is to understand cavity flows well enough to devise effective cavity resonance suppression techniques. The simulation use Large Eddy Simulation (LES) with Smagorinsky-Lilly model. For the turbulence case the influence of the following parameters are considered: cavity aspect ratios (L/D), with and without air injection at the upstream end of the cavity and different mass injection ratios.Computational results are presented for pressure, Mach number and vorticity contours shown at cavity aspect ratios, different injection ratios, and Oscillations are suppressed.
