SIMULATION OF ROOD WING/BODY JUNCTION FLOWS WITH ZONAL RANS/LES METHODS
In this paper, flows past the Rood wing/body junction, are studied with zonal-Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) and large eddy simulation (LES) methods using two blending functions. The hybrid method is based on a weakly nonlinear two-equation k-ω model. Whereas the RANS method can accurately predict the flow structures, it performs poorly on the turbulent kinetic and shear stress compared with available experimental data. Zonal-RANS/LES method shows some improvement in turbulent field and the blending function F2 presents a more satisfactory agreement with measurements.
