Effect of nitrifying ability on denitrifying phosphorus removal efficiency in DNP-MSBR process

The nitrifying ability and influence factors of the biofilm reactor in the DNP-MSBR process were investigated, the methods for improving the nitrate proportion and reducing the simultaneous nitrification and denitrification in the biofilm reactor were analyzed. The results demonstrate that keeping the ammonia nitrogen load below 120 g/(m3·d), chemical oxygen demand(COD) load below 500 g/(m3·d), dissolved oxygen(DO) concentration on the level of 5-6 mg/L in the nitrifying section, the average removal efficiency of ammonia nitrogen can be obtained more than 90%, besides the simultaneous nitrification and denitrification can be extremely reduced and the nitrate proportion will be guaranteed. In the DNP-MSBR process, the denitrifying phosphorus removal efficiency achieves 75%.
