CONVECTIVE FLOW ANALYSIS IN AN AUTOCLAVE
Numerical simulation is carried out for free convection flow in long vertical cylinder together with the experiment of visualization, considering the autoclave device to produce the synthetic quartz crystal. The incompressible Navier-Stokes equation under the Boussinesq approximation is used as the basic equation. Using the third order upwind difference scheme is employed for approximation of the convective term of both momentum and heat equation. Flow is complex due to its instability,and the various sizes of vortices are observed in experiment.
