Application of Computer Technology for Hydrological Monitoring
Integrationof computertechnologyand hydrological knowledge is a powerful tool for decision making in the forecast and controlling of flooding disaster. In this study, a real-timehydrologicalinformationpublishingsystemat provincial scale was designed and established using Browse/Server structure and ArcIMS as system flat. It was based on the real-timehydrologicaldatabase,hydrologicalengineering database and hydrological model. The SQL2000 and ArcSDE were used as database to storage and manage the attribute data and spatial data respectively. Moreover, many functions, such as thequery,analysis,forecastandprocessinformation presentation, were realized by secondary development based on ArcIMS.
