Research on Informatica SQL Overrides Trouble Shooting and Performance Tuning Technique
The data acquisition process, in which the data warehouse and operational data store (ODS) are populated from operational sources, represents the most technically challenging part of any business intelligence (BI) environment. Informatica is one of the most popular data ETL (Extract, Transformation and Load) tools which are widely deployed in data warehouse applications. Trouble shooting and tuning SQL Overrides queriesininformaticaGUIenvironmentcanimprove performance in selecting data from source database tables, which positively impacts the overall session performance. This paper presents the best practices which explore ways to optimize a SQL query within the source qualifier object. The tips here can be applied to any Informatica mapping. While the SQL discussed here is executed in Oracle 8 and above, the techniques are generally applicable.
