Research on Integration and Application of PRO/E and ANSYS
ANSYS, the software developed by the American company named ANSYS, is a new generation of large and general finite element analysis program integrated with the structure, heat, fluid, electromagnetism and acoustics. Although equipped with functions of perfect fore and after processing and powerful data interface, and regarded as the most effective CAE software, yet it is restricted to the practical complex project modeling. Therefore, according to characteristics of Pro/E and ANSYS, two precise methods of leading models into ANSYS are presented by way of the interface between the two software while applying the CAD modeling software to the model building. For one thing, ANSYS can be directly integrated into Pro/E and entered by clicking the menu of ANSYS after building models in Pro/E. Thus, the whole process can be transferred without breaking away from each other, which reaches the goal of seamless connection and actual integration of CAD/CAE. For the other, model files are copied to the directory of ANSYS with the help of finished models in Pro/E, then led into the environment by means of options Input-Pro/E embedded in ANSYS.Finally full-scale mock-up is displayed via running options Volumesin the plot menu. These two methods avoid everpresent lost or distortion of complicated curved faces while leading models built in Pro/E into ANSYS, which makes full preparations for further finite element analysis in the not-distant future.
