ASON Simulator Based on OMNeT++
The concept of ASON (Automatically switched optical network) is developed under the requirement of network intelligence. ASON has the ability of dynamic connection, which offers such dynamic connection capability by introducing a distributed control plane. Bas-ed on the latest ITU-T and IETF recommendation and standards, this dissertation introduces the architecture of ASON, uses the Objective Modular Network simulator called OMNeT++ to model and analyzethe performance of the network, both simulation mode called graphical mode (Tkenv) and data base mode (Cmdenv) are used to verify and evaluate the mode. The simulation environment was implemented as a set of distributed modules based on the G.8080 ITU-T recommendation.
