A Developed Phase Tracking Method for OFDM System

In a system based on 802.11a wireless LAN standard, phasetrackingisanimportantfactorof synchronization. According to IEEE 802.11a, there are two common methods to track the phase: Data-Aided and NondataAided phase tracking. In this paper, advantages and disadvantages of these two methods are presented, and differences between these two methods are analyzed. Based on their advantages, a novel phase tracking method is developed. In this method, 4 pilot subcarriers are used to estimate the channel condition roughly, then the one which has better performance in this channel is selected to trace phase. Theoretical analysis and simulation results indicate that the novel method get better performance.
