PROFITS :A Fault Injection Tool for Protocol Testing
Conformance testing is not good at fmding the errors and problems in protocol design and implementation.With UML modeling, software-implemented fault injection can be used to test protocol for protocols fault-tolerance, detecting the errors in its design and implementation. PROFITS, which incorporates the techniques above, is a fault injection software designed for protocol testing. It provides a generic test framework to test any protocol stack, using fault injection to find the problems in protocol implementation, with UML model describing protocol behavior and analyzing the result. PROFITS system enables user to create test cases with different need.According to the scripts generated from test cases, system emulates communication errors and injects them into protocol implementation to find possible security flaws. The testing procedure is model-driven.
