Curriculum reform in process equipment and control engineering -a half centurys experiences in education innovation
Process Equipment and Control Engineering is a typical multi-/inter-disciplinary engineering program of Chinese characteristics. A review of the development of the undergraduate program in ECUST is given in this paper to summarize the experiences gained in multidisciplinary engineering education. Major problems existing in the course system are identified, which include our-of-date course structure, course compartment, course overload, short of integrated practice training and teacher-centered learning. To meet the new challenges, a Comprehensive Course System in Process Equipment and Control Engineering is put forward as a 4-year- consistent integrative curriculum system, which breaks the rigid pattern of fundamental courses, major fundamental courses, and major courses.
