STUDY ON MAKING CERAMIC COMPOSITE STEEL PLATE BY SHS

Large cross-section composite rectangular pipe with ceramics inner liner, which can be used directly, and also cut into the ceramics clad plate, are obtained by utilizing a new fabrication technique. To reduce the technological process and production costs, ceramics coating was produced directly on the surface of the hemming plate. The material, shape and size parameters of cores were determined and thickness and hardness of the ceramic coating are measured. The mechanism of bond stress caused between steel substrate and alumina ceramics are analyzed and the modes of the bond stress are found. The technology dimension parameters of hemming plate used in the experiment are determined and the bond strength between the coating and tube substrate in normal and tangential direction is examined. The results indicate that the surface of ceramics coating is glossy, and its thickness is among 1.5~3.5 mm, the hardness of alumina ceramics inner liner is above HV1100.Metallurgical bonding between steel substrate and ceramics coating can not come into being and the mode of their joint is mainly mechanical bonding with lower bonding force.
