USING EXTREME VALUE THEORY TO RECOGNIZE DAMAGE IN COMPOSITE STRUCTURE
Extreme value theory is used in structure health monitoring in this article. In the field of structure health monitoring, sensors are usually taken the form of network. In order to make good use of the information got from several groups of sensors, eliminate other factors influence on the monitored responsive wave and stand out the damage effect, extreme value theory is used to analyze the distribution of the damage characteristic parameters got from several groups of sensors, make the threshold value of the damage characteristic parameter more precise. Then the damage is recognized based on the process of recognizing the position of the damage.Damage characteristic parameter referred is defined by comparing the energy value of the responsive signal between health condition and damage condition of composite materials, and the energy value is extracted by HHT algorithm. Experiment on the composite materials proves that the method can recognize the damage of composite materials more precisely and efficiently.
