Hypernuclear physics with single and double charge-exchange reactions

We propose to expand the study of hypernuclear physics by means of the single and double charge-exchange reactions at J-PARC; one proposal is a precise measurement of non-mesonic weak decay (NMWD) of 4ΛH and 4ΛHe hypernuclei, which will give information on the decay from the spin singlet AN state and eventually the validity of △I=1/2 rule in NMWD. The other proposal is the production of neutron-rich Λ-hypernuclei by using the (π-,K+) double charge-exchange reaction. The structure of the new hypernuclear species will provide us information on the AN strong interaction in a neutron-rich environment such as neutron stars.
