The Low Complexity Deterministic SMC Detection Algorithm for MIMO System
This paper presents a low complexity deterministic sequential Monte Carlo(DSMC) detection scheme, called multilevel mapping DSMC detector, for high-order QAM constellations. The new scheme utilizes the property of QAM constellation and performs the sequence weight calculation in steps of two bits, which reduces the complexity. Being soft-input soft-output in nature, the multi-level mapping DSMC detector can be employed as the first-stage demodulator in a turbo receiver in coded MIMO systems. As a suboptimum detector with complexity linear in the number of transmitantennas, the multilevel mapping DSMC detector provides performance practically identical with that of the basic DSMC detector, and reduces the complexity from exponential in the modulation coefficient to linear with the modulation coefficient. Computer simulation for the uncoded MIMO system in the flat fading channel and the coded MIMO-OFDM turbo receiver system in the frequency selective multi-path fading channel proves the performance.
