MIMO wireless systems: overcoming the problems of convenience
In this paper we consider the fundamental advantage of wireless communication-its convenience-and the inevitable problems of spatial dispersion that this gives rise to. We show that MIMO systems, and especially adaptive MIMO systems, can overcome a number of these disadvantages by exploiting the spatial dimension. Especially we note that an adaptive MIMO system can combine the capacity/diversity advantages of systems in a wireless network.
