An Improved Unequal Error Protection Turbo Codes

The principle of Turbo Codes has been analyzed in this paper, and a new Unequal Error Protection Turbo Codes by designing a new puncturing scheme are proposed. The Experiment results proved that under the condition of not increasing the system complexity when the BER is lower than 104, the UEP Turbo Codes achieve a coding gain over the EEP codes of about 0.6dB on the AWGN channel, effectively realizing the protection of the important information in the encoded signal.
