Performance Analysis of RB-HARQ with LDPC

In this paper, we combined Reliability-Based Hybrid Automatic Repeat request (RB-HARQ) with Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) codes together and studied its performance. We analyzed the asymptotic performance of LDPC coded HARQ with Gaussian Approximation (GA), and investigated the most important factor to the improvement of performance. According to our research, the degrees of the variable nodes play an important role in the system performance. Since RB-HARQ selects bits with least reliabilities to retransmit, we found the selecting method of RB-HARQ is not optimal for LDPC coded HARQ system.
